Linen Banded Curtains Installed in Ballarat – Two Custom Designs Completed
We recently completed a Ballarat project featuring two sets of custom linen banded curtains, a style that’s becoming increasingly popular in Central Highlands homes. Linen brings a soft, natural texture that works beautifully with Ballarat’s modern neutral interiors, and the contrasting band adds a clean architectural line without overpowering the room.
For this installation, the linen fabric created a relaxed, organic drape, while the solid band at the base added weight and structure so the S‑fold curtains fell perfectly. The band colour was selected to tie in with the client’s flooring and cabinetry, giving the rooms a cohesive, designer finish.
This look fits a growing trend in Ballarat’s newer estates — Alfredton, Lucas, Winter Valley — where homeowners are choosing soft minimalism: natural textures, warm neutrals and subtle contrast. Linen banding enhances tall windows, grounds the space visually, and adds a custom detail that feels high‑end without being bold.
A simple design choice, but one that made a noticeable difference in this Ballarat home.
