Our business premises are located at 22 Sturt, Ballarat, Victoria, in one of the town’s historic buildings; and 11 Wilmot Rd Huonville, Tasmania, in an early farming house built in the early 1900’s. The History of Our Building – Ballarat
We moved into our new retail space in November 2013. The building has been part of the Ballarat retail scene since the early 1850’s. It was initially used by one of many local Iron Mongers, before moving into Motor Cycles & Cycles, with the “Ballarat” motorcycle built on the premises. A petrol bowser was a fixture for many years allowing cars and motorcycles to fill up out the front. In the late 1940’s in became the Malvern Star shop. For many years following it was the location of the The Courier printing press (the home to the first colour printing press outside of Melbourne) and photo developing labs upstairs. Later, it housed The WoolShop for a few years, and after, a Car Audio sales and installation business.
History Of Our Building – Huonville
The Wilmot Road building was the original farm house belonging to the Walton Family farm and has withstood many a flood of the Huon River. We recently renovated the house and have fitted out the showroom with a wealth of wonderful sample fabrics and solutions for window furnishings, wallpaper, upholstery, and more.
